Other Worldly

Step into a realm where imagination knows no bounds with my “Other Worldly” mini pattern collection. Immerse yourself in a fantastical realm of enchanting plants and mesmerising creatures, all dwelling on a faraway planet nestled within a distant galaxy.

pure imagination

The coordinating blender pattern invites you to embark on a cosmic journey, where suns, stars, planets, and comets dance in harmonious synchrony. These elements are the celestial backdrop that complements the illustrations perfectly, adding depth and wonder to the collection. Transform your surroundings with a touch of whimsy and elegance. From bedding that envelops you in dreams of distant galaxies, to curtains that let the cosmos peek into your space, and apparel that infuses your style with otherworldly charm – the possibilities are nearly as vast as the cosmos itself!

These patterns and illustrations are a symphony of vibrant colours and intricate details and with every design, we invite you to step beyond the ordinary and into the extraordinary like an invitation to embrace your inner explorer. Let your creativity roam freely as you breathe life into these designs. Whether it’s a unique home décor transformation or a fashion statement that stands out, the journey is yours to create.

A Cast of Characters

Character Creation

Notes from our lead Designer

Carbuncle Cactus

This grotesque cactus grows on a planet faraway. The shape, the flowers (carbuncles) and spikes are recognisable, but this one weeps disgusting stinky gunk from its carbuncles; it also has a “alien-tastic” twist, it grows upside down too!

Feather Palm

I loved the way this design evolved…I knew I wanted to create an “other worldly” palm tree, so I replaced the fronds with copper and teal highlighted feathers and added hanging teal tendrils that support vibrant pretty parasitic plants.

Giant Gnashing Plant

I tried my hardest to keep this character as a plant…but it just wanted to be carnivorous too! I added an unfortunate pterodactyl-esque bird caught by a grinning Gnash. Ssshhh… I’m not sure Gnash knows, but the exotic alien bird got away!

Monkey Tail Tree

I just love this character! Is it a hybrid plant/creature? I’m still not sure myself! Its amber coloured sap seeps out and hardens, creating eye-like protrusions. The comical hair was added as an afterthought and I just love it! Brilliant!

Spiky Puffer Husk

Inspired by our earthly agave plant, this Spiky Husk Puffer has a hairy bellow at its centre, which puffs out a stinky toxic gas that stuns passing creatures that are then devoured by hungry worms that rise up from the ground. Nice!

Stinging Swisher Melon

Carnivorous plant that inhabits an alien rain forest on a planet in a distant galaxy. Tentacles whip about trying to sting and devour its favourite prey…an exotic fruit fly that only lays its eggs in the plant’s melon-esque base.
