    At Seaweed & Spruce we’re fans of all styles of design from architecture to tech and everything in between! We find inspiration in all aspects of design, whether manmade or nature-made.

    I’m so glad you’re here.

    Hello! I’m Debbie, lead designer at Seaweed & Spruce. Being a born creator who once navigated the administrative maze of the business and retail worlds, I always knew that I was destined for something more vibrant and imaginative. I’m not shy about admitting that I despised the life-draining grind of my corporate roles. Sunday afternoons were tarnished by the looming dread of Monday mornings, tethered to a career I truly disliked.

    Creative Live

    My creative journey took root when I was challenged with designing labels and packaging for the physical products I created to sell online and at markets. I began with the humble Photoshop Elements, a nostalgic nod to my beginnings and Avery Design & Print (thank you Avery!) for designing my labels and packaging. In 2014 serendipity struck when I stumbled upon Creative Live and a transformative class by Bonnie Christine on Surface Pattern Design. I was instantly hooked and began creating pattern for licensing.

    Based in Cornwall, UK, I meticulously began laying the foundation for a business and lifestyle I had always envisioned. Being a team of creatives working remotely, adapting seamlessly, utilising technology to stay connected and productive. This flexible arrangement fosters creativity and efficiency and allows us to thrive doing what we love.

    I began surface pattern design about 10 years ago following a class I watched on CreativeLive hosted by Bonnie Christine, before that I dabbled at designing my own packaging, logo and labels which I really enjoyed.

    I regularly use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Canva.
